  You can indicate which topic you would like to discuss in the application form:
  • Study (re)choice (60 min) (a.o. doubts about your study choice, quitting your study and what then, doing a 2nd study?)
  • Master choice (45 min) (a.o. advice on choosing your master, a possible 2nd master, doing something else after the bachelor)
  • (Study) career orientation (45 min) (How to best plan your (study) career? How do I find out what suits me? How do I find a job? What do I have to offer an employer? Where do I find vacancies?) 
  • Voluntary work (45 min) (a.o. Which voluntary work suits me? Where do I find vacancies?)
  • Job application skills (30 min)(a.o. how to improve my CV, LinkedIn profile, cover letter, practice job interview).

As a student of the Faculty of Social Sciences, you can participate in workshops and events offered by the Career Service FSW and also workshops offered by the central Career Services and the Career Services of other faculties.

Please adjust your CV an/or LinkedIn profile based on the relevant information on CV and/or LinkedIn profile on the LU Career Zone before sending it in or scheduling an appointment with the student assistant. 

Email-service
After adjusting this, you can send an email with the (Word) attachments and/or your Linkedin profile url to careerservice.socialsciences@fsw.leidenuniv.nl with the header: 'CV service' or 'LinkedIn profile check'. 
We aim to have your CV / LinkedIn profile checked within 5 working days. 

Online appointment with student assistant
You can also discuss your CV and/or Linkedin profile with one of the student assistants of the Career Service FSW, via Teams or phone call.

Open hour Student Plaza FSW
Have your CS and/or LinkedIn profile live checked on Mondays from 14.00-15.00 hrs at the Student Plaza FSW (ground floor Pieter de la Court building, Leiden).

Cover letters
We do not check cover letters via email. It is best to make an appointment for this with one of the career advisors.
