This self-knowledge helps you make effective study and career choices.

Workshop Career Stress! How can I deal with that pressure?
Sometimes it feels like everyone around you has finished three internships, two masters and had time left to do volunteer work in the summers. In short, everybody seems to be more prepared than you to start that first job.
Of course this isn’t true, but it can be the source of a stressful feeling. In this workshop we will talk about the origin of the stress and you will learn how to deal better with this pressure. We will also define what your first step can be to start looking for that graduate job, internship or project.
Workshop What really motivates me?
During your studies you might get to know more and more about the skills, knowledge and qualities you have, which can contribute to a job or the labor market after graduation. It might however not be so clear yet what really motivates you. In the workshop “What really motivates you?” you will gain more insight into your motives. It is the goal of this workshop to gain an insight in your motives; that what intrinsically motivates you to do what you do. This information about yourself could help you making study and career related decisions and could help you as well to more easily being able to explain to others what you want. This could benefit the process of writing a cover letter or could help you during a job interview. In an interactive way and with the help of a fascinating exercise, in this workshop you will get to know what motivates you, leaving the workshop with a personal list of motives.

You will work on what you have learnt from your current experience and what this means for choosing another study. You will also be given tools to set your search in motion to ultimately make a more appropriate choice of study in the future.
The Career Café
Every year, Leiden University's Faculty of Law brings Dutch and international students together during the Career Café, an evening event designed to help students explore various career options after their studies. This informal and interactive event provides a unique opportunity for students to connect with University alumni and gain valuable information about different careers within the legal and criminology sectors. During the event, informal speed dates are organized while students enjoy snacks and drinks, allowing them to talk personally with the alumni. Coming from different fields, ranging from legal to criminological, the alumni offers a good dose of experience and knowledge. This allows students to gain insight into various career paths, which is valuable in shaping their future. By talking to alumni who have useful educational backgrounds, students can make valuable connections that can be useful when looking for internships, jobs, or advice on further study options.
