Workshop LinkedIn profile & network
LinkedIn is an excellent tool to meet future employers and interesting companies. This workshop will teach you how to create a great LinkedIn profile. And once you have a good profile how to use LinkedIn to find jobs. During this workshop we will give you tips and tricks to create an appealing professional LinkedIn profile. The following subjects will be covered:

- Making sure your profile is found by other professionals
- How to use LinkedIn to expand your network
Workshop Job Interview
Do you know what is important during job interviews? How can you prepare optimally? During this online workshop you will learn what to share about yourself and how to best present yourself in a job interview. What should the employer know about you and about your background? The focus in this workshop is on practicing an actual job interview.

- How do you formulate the best answers in a job interview?
- How does a job interview actually work?
Workshops Prepare Yourself for the Bio Science Park Excursion / Bètabanenmarkt
In this workshop, Science Career Service will share tips and tricks with regard to how to prepare yourself for networking at the Bio Science Park Excursion or Bètabanenmarkt. Tips in this workshop will not only include what to do before, but also during and after the event to make sure that you’ll come home with great satisfaction!
Career Colleges
The following Career Colleges will be organized for the academic year 21/22: Working in Research, Working in Education, Working as a Data Scientist and Working as a Consultant.
Career Colleges can help you to gain insight into the career opportunities related to an area of expertise that is of interest to you! During a Career College, a panel of professionals from a specific area of expertise will be joining the event. Preferably this panel consist of a mix of alumni of the Science and LUMC faculty. They are invited to talk about their careers and experiences. During Career College you can actively participate and ask questions about the opportunities and challenges, frustrations and success factors of working in a certain area of expertise. Typical questions could be:
- What exactly are the activities of a professional? How does a normal day looks like?
- Which skills are necessary to be successful?
- What is important for employers when applying for a position in their organization?
- Is a PhD degree a benefit or a disadvantage for a career in a particular area of expertise?

Workshop Finding a job that fits
During your studies you will regularly ask yourself what you will do "later" with all the knowledge and skills you acquire. What kind of jobs could I do? Which employers are looking for me? And what do I really want? Where do you start searching? This workshop is intended for students and young alumni who want to get a better idea of what they are looking for and what are the different ways to look for it. If you have a clear idea of what you are looking for in a job, this workshop will help you identify interesting employers, make contacts, ultimately apply for a specific job and explain why this job suits you.In the workshop “Finding a job that fits?’ You will receive practical tips for looking for interesting employers and vacancies. We also discuss how to make valuable contacts and how you can use these contacts for your career. The use of LinkedIn is certainly also discussed.
Workshop What have I got to offer an employer?
What knowledge, skills and qualities do you already have to distinguish yourself on the job market? It can be difficult to see this in yourself, because it is very normal for you and you may always act in this way. The aim of this workshop is to gain insight into your knowledge, competences and qualities. Before you know well which (career) job suits you and you can work on it, it is good to have a clear picture of yourself. Outlined by some theory about the labor market and personal development, the focus of this workshop will be on exercises to clarify what you have to offer. This self-knowledge helps you make effective study and career choices.
Workshop CV and application letter
Presenting yourself clearly and effectively is an essential part of applying for work. In this workshop you will get a clear picture of how you can properly display your knowledge, skills and competences in your CV and in your motivation letter. In the workshop you will get many examples and practical tips, so that at the end you know how to attract the attention of employers to be invited for an interview! You will learn how employers scan your CV and how to show what you want them to see.
Workshop LinkedIn: profile and network
This workshop is intended for students and recent graduates who want to prepare for the practical sides of networking and applying for jobs. Presenting yourself clearly and effectively is an essential part of applying for a job. In this workshop you will get a clear picture of how to properly display your knowledge, skills and competences on your LinkedIn profile.
Workshop Online application
Your CV and application letter have yielded a positive result: you have been invited for an interview! But… It will be different this time. The interview takes place online: "Due to the current COVID-19 circumstances, the interview will take place by means of video calling." Okay, that's something new! But how does this work? What should I pay attention to? How can I prepare? And how do I present myself best on screen? Everyone who applies for a job experiences some degree of tension, but applying online adds a whole new dynamic to this. This workshop offers you the tools and tips you need, so that you are well prepared for your online job interview.
Workshops Assessments
Is an assessment part of many application procedures that you see? Do you find it a bit scary or do you not know what to expect from it? Would you like to practice with different parts of an assessment? This workshop is intended for students and recent graduates who wish to prepare for an assessment as part of an application. In order to give you the latest insights and bring the practice close to reality, we work together with assessment agency LTP (a leading Dutch organization in conducting assessments) for this workshop.
