For each year of your studies you’ll find steps you can take towards personal development and building up your CV.

Working on your CV during your studies
Your study is an important part of your CV. However, the way your CV will look when you graduate will be determined by the choices you make during your study.

Think about your options within your study track concerning:

  • choice of internship for a company or research institute
  • choice of your research projects
  • choice of minor
  • choice to do a part of your study abroad

Extra-curricular activities also determine what your CV will look like. You can think about things like:

  • choice in part-time job
  • choice to join a student board for a society / club
  • choice for voluntary service work

For some jobs and sectors, a high GPA forms an important part of the selection, for example for traineeships, consultancy or PhD-positions. When you are planning to apply for such positions, it is smart to consider where want to invest your time, whether this is more experience or more time to study.
